Maybe it is your birthday today!
If not, go away and come back and read this on your birthday.
JUST KIDDING!
This month we have SO MANY birthdays in our family. In fact, Goosey (me), Mama, Dad, and Twinkie all have birthdays THIS WEEK. It makes things kind of crazy -- or at least it used to, when we were all living in the same house. Puddin' was also born in April but not until later in the month.
I've always loved my birthday -- what's not to love? There's cake, friends, sometimes presents: it's like my own personal holiday celebrating ME!
Here are some early birthday memories from us:
I remember one birthday when I was very young, perhaps seven? Mama had themed the whole party around crayons. There was a beautiful crayon cake, and a game where we each followed a different color of yarn around the yard to find a little crayon-colored bag full of (I assume) crayons and candy as a party favor.
One of Boy-o's early birthdays featured a "mud" cake. It was chocolate with chocolate frosting and stuffed with gummy worms. He and his little friends were delighted to be eating mud and worms, of course.
Puddin's fourth birthday (or at least what she remembers of it), she says we were sitting around the table, probably eating cake, and brother Boy-o came down the hall with a brand new tricycle (insert squeaky wheel sound effect here: ee-ee-ee-ee) and Mama said, "No, Boy-o! Not yet!" and then he went backwards down the hall (ee-ee-ee-ee).
Dolly had her fifth birthday at the McDonald's in Laie, Hawaii, before it was moved a couple of years ago, when it used to have a polynesian-style architecture and a beautiful waterfall inside.
Twinkie remembers her ninth birthday when they visited a farm belonging to the local family doctor and got to ride a horse.
Gonna keep this post short and sweet!
Boy-o is visiting! He and his wife brought their fat happy baby girl to meet us finally, and Puddin' is SO DARN HAPPY to finally be an aunt! ^_^ So I'm gonna go talk to my bro and cuddle a fat baby instead of writing a longer post.
Happy birthday to you all!! To celebrate, here's one of my favorite silly birthday songs:
