Last month Boy-O, Sunny, and Ladybug visited!
Our little niece was born six whole months ago, and Puddin' and I have had to survive on photos and videos alone! And Puddin' had it even worse -- up until now she's been the sole producer of grandkids in our family, so this fat little Ladybug finally made Puddin' into AUNT PUDDIN'!! And she couldn't be happier.
But she needed to meet the baby. She needed the fat and the squish and the smiles and the drool and then when the fat and squish turn into stink and fuss, she needed to be able to hand the baby back to her parents. There is something so special about being an Aunt or an Uncle, to being a sidecar parent as it were: along for the ride, but not in charge.
More on that some other time.
Here's some pictures of the fun we had!
Ecstatic AUNT Puddin' and her Ladybug!

Cousins!
Puddin's kids have never had a cousin before -- they love her!

Papaya never had someone smaller than her before!
We all had a lot of fun together: eating, playing games, and visiting local attractions like the Walton 5&10 Museum and the Pea Ridge Battlefield Park.

The 5&10 has all kinds of old-school toys for sale -- I remember this one from when I was a kid!

Even if you hate Wal-Mart on principle, the museum really is pretty cool. This part shows you what products were available when, and how much they cost compared to today's prices.
Such a great visit!!
AND THEN:
And by "play" I mean "block up the sink, turn the water on full blast, and then leave it running while they go back to bed."

The flood spread all over the upstairs floor, even into the next room...

... through the floor and soggied the downstairs ceiling ...

... which had to be removed in places.
The giant blue industrial fans ran for two weeks.
FORTUNATELY they did the job, and Bear and Puddin' will not need to replace any floors.
Just bits of the ceiling.
Rotten. Kids.
Bear and Puddin' are now shopping for a new bathroom tap that cannot be left on all night.
Perhaps something like this one?

What a fun time. I'm so glad you kids got together.
ReplyDeleteThose stinkers. Yes, a faucet like that would be perfect. Does it come in shower size? 😉
Hahaha. We'll update again if and when a new faucet is installed!
DeleteThose kids are fired. Dadgum--didn't they do this before, once?
ReplyDeleteAt least twice before, but not to this level of damage...
